Jesus Fixed Things

Jesus could fix what was broken.

Jesus was good at fixing things.

Broken bodies. Broken circumstances. Broken lives. Wherever Jesus went, people brought Him what wasn’t working, and He made things whole again. The crowds came because word spread that Jesus could fix what was broken.

However, Luke gives us another picture of Jesus that may be even more important: “Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” (Luke 5:16)

Jesus had a job to do, people to teach, needs to meet and yet He regularly got away to be alone with His Father.

We all have roughly 168 hours in a week that is already taking our attention, but are we doing with that remaining time...after work, sleep, meals, chores and responsibilities?

Prayer isn't a rushed thing to give God our list and check it off for the day. It's about sitting at the table with our Father: talking, listening, and learning His heart.

What we do with our time when we're “off the clock” may be one of the clearest indicators of what, and Who, matters most to us.
