Forgiven People Forgive People

Forgiveness is one of those things that sounds simple until you're the one who has to do it.

In Matthew 18:21–35, Jesus tells a powerful story about a servant who was forgiven an impossible debt, yet refused to forgive someone who owed him far less. His point is clear: when we've experienced the incredible forgiveness of God, it should transform the way we treat others.

Forgiving someone doesn't mean what they did was okay. It doesn't erase the hurt or ignore the pain. But it does mean choosing to release the debt instead of carrying the weight of bitterness.

As followers of Jesus, we're called to reflect the same grace we've been given. Forgiven people forgive people.

Challenge: Is there someone you've been holding onto unforgiveness toward? Ask Jesus to help you take the first step toward extending the same grace He has already shown you.
