Light Of The World

Light of the world

In Ephesians 5, Paul calls believers to live differently because of who they are in Christ. We once walked in darkness, but through Jesus we have become children of light. That transformation isn't just about believing the right things, it's about living them out every day.

Walking in the light means intentionally turning away from sin. Paul specifically warns against sexual immorality, greed, and harmful speech because these reflect a life centered on self rather than God. At the same time, we're called to pursue goodness, righteousness, truth, and a heart of thanksgiving.

Living in the light also requires wisdom and intentionality. We don't drift into godliness by accident. We learn what pleases the Lord, make the most of every opportunity, stay filled with the Holy Spirit, and continually encourage one another in worship and gratitude.

Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" John 8:12

As we continue to confess our sins and receive His forgiveness, He faithfully transforms the dark places in our lives. Walking in the light isn't a one-time decision, rather, it is a daily choice to return to Jesus again and again, allowing His light to shape every part of who we are.
